System Information Engineering Course
What is System informatics?
Recognizing the real world and realizing the desired function
The goal of System informatics is "neo-cybernetics: The Study of cognition and behavior" linking the physical world to the information world. "Recognition" is a model of the object, and "action" is an approach to the object. We value this framework which can be called the basic principle of engineering. For example, to realize a brain-machine interface in which a person manipulates a medical prosthetic arm, the key is to measure and analyze significant neural signals from the brain, design control signals, and implement hardware. In this course, we are pursuing the universal principles of recognition and action that can be applied to a variety of subjects, such as robots, communications, and life, and we are trying to achieve new functions. Why not challenge this approach to create new technologies? |
